LOCATION:The refuge, property of Parish of San Egidio Abbot of Camporosso. is situated onthe Lussari Mount in the characteristic Borgo at 1789 meters above the level of the sea adjacent the Sanctuary dedicated to Madonna, in the town hill of Tarvisio (UD),in the hamlet of Camporosso.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PLACE:The Lussari Mount is situated in the center of the forest of Tarvisio, that also in this age of modernization and of realization of great public works has maintened its naturalistic beauties, also thanks to its rational exploitation of the resources that the forest produces. For this reason, in this habitat live a lot of animals (from the deers to the roebucks, chamoises, ibexes, who are been reintroduced successfully since 20 years), the golden eagle and other small predatories, the capercaillie (symbol of the forest of Tarvisio), the forcello cock, partridges and coturnici, foxes, hares and marmots, moreover occasionally are sight in forest the brown bear, the lynx and the wild boar. The natural contest is an example of are beauty as for the Lussari mount is surrounded by the highest tops of the chain of the Alps giulie, that stretched away also in the Slovenia; here can be admired the Mangart, The Cacciatore mount, the tops of Riofreddo, the group of the Jof Fuart and the Montasio(the highest top of the Italian Alps that is 2753 meters up below the sea level)). North, to the border with Austria it begins the chain of the Alps Carniche (Karnischen Alpen), here we can see the Oisternig Mount, and in distance can be admired, in the more limpid eyes, the chain of the hogh Tauri. until the Glossklochner (the highest Top of Austria that is 3700 meters up below the sea level).

CHARACTERISTICS: the refuge is equipped with eleven graceful rooms (complete with independent bath and shower) that can contain other 20 places in the near presbitery (house for holidays).
The building has been interested in the last years from a restoration that have allowed to improve the comfort offered to the guests, that can take advantage of the typical kitchen offered by the manager and served in the launch room furnished in typical alpine style, where are possible also lunch in group delighted by the accordion.
The bar offers moment of refreshment and relax, and after a lunch we can try the excellent white and fruited distillates.

Instead in winter during the skiing day offers a good break with sandwiches, hot sandwiches, tea, jagertee and punch during the downhills.
The refuge organize behind reservation the New Years Eve dinner and other events for families and groups of guests. The refuge is good also for summery,touristic and professional excursions, through the paths that arrives at:
the top of the Cacciatore mount (approximately 1 hour 30 of walk);
Tarvisio through the Alpine hut of Lussari, Mount florianca and Mount Priesnig (about 2 hours 30 of walk);
Camporosso through the Alpine hut and the path of Via crucis (approximately 1 hour 30 of walk)
Valbruna long the mule track of access to the Sanctuary (approximately 2 hours 30 of walk)
refuge Pellarini through the Sella Prasnig (about 2 hours 30 of walk) where start a lot of paths that go up through the group of Jof Fuart and difficult alpine ways.
In the winter season all the expert skiers can use the fantastic trail Di Pramperoof the lenght of beyond 3500 meters, than starts in the vicinity of the refuge and comes down until Camporosso ( 810 meters up below the sea level), where it can be gone back to the Lussari mount with the modern ski lift or go directly using opportune trails the trails of Tarvisio. The trail Di Prampero is accredited F.I.S. and it has accomodated important sporting events, like the winter Universiadi, contests of Europe cup and other contests of national and international interest.
